Onward and Upward (literally)

We're getting ready to move on from Santa Cruz to our next Bolivian cities, Cochabamba (elevation 2,553m  = 8,300ft) and La Paz (elevation 3,660m = 12,000ft).  Our flight to Cochamaba leaves early Thursday morning and we'll be there until Monday, March 19th.  Jason will be looking at a private collection of documents and we're also hoping the stopver will help us all to acclimate to the elevation gradually, especially for Eli's sake.  We'll then fly on to La Paz and be there for approximately four weeks while Jason researches at the Ministry of Foreign Relations Archive. With higher elevation comes cooler temps, so we're packing our jeans, sweaters and hats and leaving our shorts and sandals here in storage. We'll be returning to Santa Cruz for a couple of days in mid-April before leaving for Brazil.
